Alloy spring wire for high-temperature service
Springs above 500 °C relax. This wire is drawn and heat treated so they hold their load longer.

What we draw
| Grade | Service ceiling | Chosen for |
|---|---|---|
| Inconel 718 | 700 °C | Age-hardenable after coiling |
| Inconel X-750 | 815 °C | Relaxation resistance at temperature |
| Inconel 625 | 980 °C | Corrosion plus heat |
| A-286 | 650 °C | Iron-based alternative to 718 |
| Monel K-500 | 480 °C | Marine and sour service |
| MP35N | 400 °C | High strength plus corrosion |
| 3J21 | 400 °C | Precision elastic parts |
The problem this wire solves
A spring under load at temperature slowly loses length. That is relaxation, and it is what decides whether a valve still seats after a year. The grade and the ageing route are chosen for it, which is why both are asked for on the enquiry rather than just the grade.
Where it is used
- Valve and compressor springs
- High-temperature seals
- Aerospace spring components
- Industrial furnace hardware
- Instrument and precision elastic parts
